CPR Statistics

Cardiac arrest causes more fatalities worldwide than the combined total of colorectal cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, pneumonia, auto accidents, HIV, firearms incidents, and house fires.

In the home, both men and women receive CPR assistance equally, but in public, 45% of men receive CPR assistance compared to 39% of women.

Approximately 90% of individuals who experience cardiac arrest outside of a hospital don't survive. Administering CPR promptly can double the chance of survival.

Over 50% of employees are unable to find their company's AED.

Every year 350,000 people die from cardiac arrest in the United States alone.

Most out-of-hospital cardiac arrests typically happen at home, accounting for 73.4%.

Statistically, more than 10,000 cardiac arrests happen in the workplace each year.

Cardiac arrest, an electrical malfunction in the heart that leads to an irregular heartbeat, is the leading cause of death.

The chances of survival decrease by 10% for each minute that CPR and AED use are postponed.
